Fall FUNDrive to cover Maintenance and Property Improvements—

We’ve had so much success with past clothing drives, we’ve decided to host another one. Clothes and other items will be accepted through Sunday, Dec. 15 If you have any questions, please contact Karen in the office, 630-851-8010, or Susanna Brandon.

Attention: Due to RAIN predicted for Saturday October 26, the date is changed to Sunday, October 27th at 4-5pm.

Our trunks will be decorated & filled with treats & candy for all enjoy. We also have activities, games, prizes and hot drinks. So, put on your costumes & join us for some family fun!

It is fall, y'all which means it is time for Great Ager's Halloween celebration. Join us on October 11 for a baked potato bar lunch followed by fun and games. The spuds and beverages will be provided so bring your favorite potato topper (think butter, sour cream, creamed broccoli, chili and beyond) and your own table service. Do you enjoy the sounds of music in Bethany’s sanctuary on a Sunday morning? You can be part of that! It’s easy and you don’t need to be able to read music to join any of our musical groups!

  • Chancel Choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Sanctuary. You get to wear cool blue robes when you sing in church on Sunday! The Chancel Choir performs most Sundays from September through June.  Jason Dornink is the choir director.

Great Agers will start meeting again on Friday, September 13, at 11:30am in Bethany’s Fellowship Hall. Bring a dish to share and your own table service. The main dish and beverage will be provided. Following lunch, Marilee Foltz and Becky Tatar, two area musicians, will be singing some golden oldees for us. We hope to see everyone after the long summer break. Sunday school for children in kindergarten through 12th grade will resume on Sunday September 8.  Come learn about God and your role in God's world!

As of August 22, 2019, the NEW parking lot is completed! The church building will be officially opened on Saturday, August 24 in the early morning.

This parking lot is so much more than concrete and tar. For the church, it is a visible blessing from God how God leads the congregation into a comeback. For the congregation, it is also a touchable representation of how each congregant has been faithful and generous throughout 18 months of fundraising which is being overflown. It has…

Children’s Church will begin Sunday, June 23 and will run through Sunday, July 28. This is a time for Bethany’s children to have a service of their very own, designed just for them!

ROAR! Life is Wild, God is Good!

Register early for our annual Vacation Bible School, which will be held July 22-26! Online Registration is Open!

Online registration is open for the 2019 Northern Illinois Annual Conference. Online registration ends May 19. The theme for this year’s 180th session is “Back to the Future”. We will be recalling, reimagining and reclaiming our history for a hopeful future. Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, including usher, plenary page, greeter and secretarial pool member. Our fundraiser for Paving Our Way to Christ is officially open. We’ll be collecting items from May 9 to June 5. Our drop off date to Savers is scheduled for the morning of June 6. Fundrive packets containing information about the drive, tax receipt and gallon trash bag are located in the Narthex. Pick up some packets and invite your friends, neighbors and extended family to participate. The more we donate, the more we earn.

Easter Sunday

Join the Bethany of Fox Valley family at one of our Easter services on Sunday, April 21. We will hold our “Son-Rise” Service, which is led by Bethany’s youth group, at 7:00 a.m. After the service, there will be an Easter breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Bethany’s regular Easter service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Please consider joining us for this most important event in Bethany’s church year!

Be sure to mark your calendars to attend "Curiouser and Curiouser: an evening in Wonderland" on May 11. Top hats, teacups, feasting and folly are the all on the agenda for this adventurous evening that will end with magic by Dr. David. Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 Blessed Beginnings is hosting Vision and Hearing testing for children ages 3 and up. This will help detect any issues a child may be having. If you have a child or grandchild who could use testing, it is only $4 for each test. All Bethany members are cordially invited to attend a recital by Justin Brown on Saturday, April 27 at 10am in the Bethany Sanctuary. The recital is titled “Storms of Life” and features Justin’s original compositions.

The long-awaited Special Session of the General Conference has finished its work. This special session was convened to decide our denomination’s stance on human sexuality. As you may already know, the delegates chose the Traditional Plan rather than the One Church Plan that was overwhelmingly supported by the Council of Bishops.

The One Church Plan would have given space for clergy, all churches (no matter what their stand on human sexuality), and annual conferences to be in ministry…
