If you are looking for a way to burn off a few of those Thanksgiving dinner calories, Hanging of the Greens is for you. We will gather at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 26 to hang garland and ornaments and get the church ready to celebrate Advent beginning December 3. All ages are welcome to help.
Once the decorations are up, we will get down to some serious eating with a chili cookoff at 5:30 p.m. It is time to pull out your spices and chop your peppers for a crockpot of your special secret chili that can dethrone the current chili champion, Antje Brandon.
If cooking is not your forte, please lend us your tastebuds to help choose the champion. We number all the chili entries and invite everyone to try a sample of each one. If one taste is not enough, you may come back through the line to retaste your favorites and then vote for the best one. There will also be hot dogs, chips, lemonade and desserts to round out this annual feast.
Sign up in the narthex if you plan to attend.
