Q. What should I wear when I come to your church?
Dress casual. But everyone says that. Here’s what we mean: wear whatever clothes you feel comfortable in. You’ll see others wearing everything from suits to shorts.
Q. What are your worship services like?
We can experience both traditional and contemporary services in one service. We call it Blended service. Our service uses piano, organ, and choirs in worship. Sometimes, guitar and hand drum makes joyful noises during the service.
Q. Are there opportunities for my kids and students?
On Sunday morning, there is Sunday School for Kids and Youth from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Nursery is also available for children 2 and under during services and Sunday School.
Q. Are there other opportunities for adults?
Yes! We have adult Sunday school from 10:15 to 11:15. We also have a number of small group ministries, choirs, and additional opportunities for fellowship throughout the year, including breakfast once a month from September to May after service.
Q. Where can I park?
Bethany of Fox Valley has a large parking lot in which you can park. But on Sundays, if our lot is full, we have obtained permission to use the Rush Castle Orthopaedics parking lot on Sunday mornings only. This lot is located directly across the street from church.
Q. What does it mean that you are Methodist?
As Methodist, we are opened to be an instrument of God by practicing “Open Heart, Open Hands, and Open Doors.” There are no exclusively United Methodist doctrines. Although we have distinctive emphasis we have no affirmations that are not also believed by other Christian groups. So it may not mean a whole lot to you, but you should check out John Wesley and www.umc.org.
Q. Can I participate in communion?
We believe the [communion] table is open to all who are interested in opening their hearts to God and knowing his son, Jesus. We serve communion on the first Sunday of every month at all services.
