SPRC has the pleasure of sharing some wonderful news with all of you. Bethany will soon welcome Sang-Hun Han as our new pastor. While he is not with us today, he is eagerly looking forward to becoming a part of our family and serving alongside us in our journey of faith.

Pastor Sang comes to us from Salem Korean United Methodist Church in Schaumburg, where he has served faithfully the last two years. Prior to that, he served at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Addison.

With an impressive educational background, Pastor Sang has earned a Ph.D. in Philosophical Theology and Systematic Theology from the Chicago Theological Seminary. He also holds master’s degrees from Southern Methodist University and Wesley Theological Seminary, equipping him with a profound understanding of theology and a deep commitment to the Methodist tradition.

Outside the pulpit, Pastor Sang enjoys spending quality time outdoors, walking and biking with his son, David, who will be embarking on his high school journey this fall, and his wife, Heesung Kwon.

We are blessed to welcome Pastor Sang, Heesung, and David into our church family. We trust that Pastor Sang's leadership, wisdom, and compassion will inspire and guide us as we continue to grow in faith and serve our community.

In the coming weeks, we will be preparing for Pastor Sang's arrival and we encourage each of you to think about how we can extend our warmest welcome and support as they transition into their new role.

Let us also hold in our prayers all those involved in this time of transition, both the Park family and Pastor Sang's family, that it may be smooth and blessed.
